Zivzik pomegranates
The Çetin dam being built by Çetin Enerji, a subsidiary of the Norwegian company Statkraft, 3 kilometres from the village of Zivzik, will reach a height of 145 metres when completed and store 10% of the Botan river flow. Once a 10 km square lake forms behind the Çetin dam an annual production of between 110 and 300 kilowatts is predicted. The dam lake will affect the agricultural land of many villagers and will submerge the famous pomegranate orchards for which the village of Zivzik is renowned.
Actually, it seems like a VERY stupid idea to flood villages such as Zivzik. And it sure looks like Turkish authorities have had other plans for Zivzik in Siirt for a long time.

Siirt Organized Industrial Zone
Siirt Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STSO) Vice President Fuat Özgür Çalapkulu, in an interview with Sunday's Zaman, said Siirt had a very limited economy, adding that there were only seven individuals who invested in the industrial zone in Siirt from 2006 to the end of 2012. “With the settlement process that started close to the end of 2012, the number of new investors planning to invest in the organized industrial zone was 14 for the first eight months of 2013. The total number of investors operating in the industrial zone has increased to 21.
In response to a question about what kind of development projects he plans for Siirt in order to boost its economy, Siirt Governor Aydın said they have two separate plans. One is based on agriculture, while the other is based on tourism. “As part of the first plan, the governor's office will provide incentives to producers of products native to the region such as Siirt fıstığı [Siirt pistachios], Zivzik narı [Zivzik pomegranate] and menengiç [terebinth trees].
The second development plan is to revive tourism in the city focusing on faith tourism. As you may know, the tomb of the famous Yemeni mystic Uwais al-Qarani is in Siirt. Tillo [a center for religious figures] is another place of attraction in Siirt. It is estimated that the tombs of 12,000 saints are located in Tillo. Some major religious philosophers such as İsmail Fakirullah, Sultan Memduh and İbrahim Hakkı Erzurumi [who left behind scholarly works in a range of fields, from mathematics to astronomy] are buried in Tillo.”
ANF - SIIRT 04.05.2014, With the increasing number of Hydroelectric power projects being constructed for security (!) reasons in Kurdistan the Botan valley is facing destruction. A total of 16 projects planned in the region indicate that a total environmental and historical disaster is on the cards. While all over the world there is a search for alternative energy resources, in Turkey Hydroelectric projects are still in vogue and the Botan valley has become a centre for these projects. Despite protests against the building of dams on the pretext of security, the state and the Governor of Siirt are persisting with the projects.
In Siirt province there are a total of 16 dams planned by the state and the private sector. Once all these hydroelectric power stations, some of which are at the construction stage, begin to operate, the valley will be submerged.
The dams being built are:
*Limak Siirt is building 8 dams on the Botan river
* The Çetin Dam (350 MW) is being built by Statgraft
* The Alkumru Dam (267 MW) is also being built by Limak
* The Incir Dam (140 MW)is being built by EnerjiSa
* The Pervari Dam (120 MW) is also being built by EnerjiSa
* The Keskin Dam (164 MW) is being built by Bitlis Enerji
* The Oran Dam (63 MW) is being built by AGE
* The Kirazlik Dam (45 MW) is being built by Limak and partners
* The Narli Dam (36 MW) is being built by Aksa
A 6,000-year-old settlement will be submerged
Both old and new settlement areas will be submerged. On account of the dam-building archaeological digs have been intensified. One site where excavation is taking place is the village of Çattepe (Tillé Nawro) in Kurtalan district. A 6,000-year-old town has been discovered after 4 years of excavations. During the excavations a game board measuring 2.50 x 1.50 metres has been found. 49 small stones and figures have also been found in the mound, with different coloured objects in green, red, blue, black and white, thought to be the oldest pieces of a board game yet discovered.
Dozens of people have died
Dozens of people have died in Siirt as a result of the construction or of dam gates being opened without warning, causing a sudden rise in water levels. In 2011 in a six-week period 17 people died in this way. In the latest incident Fehim Özbey (39) went for a picnic with his three children at lunch time between the villages of Kutmiz and Billoris. They went for a dip in the Botan river when the water suddenly rose as a result of the Alkumru dam gates being opened without prior warning. Fehim Özbey desperately tried to save his children, but he was unable to save Serdar Özbey (18) and Ibrahim Özbey (11), and he was also carried away by the current.

ANKARA — Turkey's Orthodox Armenian Co-Patriarch Aram Ateşyan expressed his pleasure with Prime Minister Erdoğan's unprecedented condolence message on the incidents of 1915. The two met in the prime ministry's official residence for over 1.5 hours. Prior to the meeting they exchanged gifts in a gesture of goodwill form both sides.
Co-Patriarch Ateşyan said, "I believe that this first step our esteemed Prime Minister took, has been appreciated by the majority of our community."
Ateşyan has accepted the condolences that PM Erdoğan has sent to the bearers and witnesses of the 1915 incidents. He also reminded the people that both sides need to make sacrifices and that it is not a one sided affair.
Yeah...Thank you...One can´t help getting a bit emotional..
This was not just one genocide going on in the region..it was several genocides..Let´s remember the circumstances in which crimes were committed against people all over the region. Turkey was attacked from all sides and lost hundreds of thousands which suffered tremendously and lost the whole Ottoman forces and Empire as well..During this time tens of millions of Persians starved to death, like tens of millions were killed in India.. and so on..and on.
We will hold Britain that goes from genocide to genocide to genocide for hundreds of years, France, the US, Germany and the so called Jewish-Russian-Turkish revolutionaries responsible for orchestrating the most gross crimes against humanity as well. That is still going on..For a fact.
France, Jews, Britain, the US..etc..were not in the region to save Armenians, "Rebels", Kurds, Persians, Iraqis, Arabs, Palestinians or any ones really..and are obvious not that the time for this writing either!
Yeah..it´s the British, France, the Bolsheviks and fascists all over again!
Actually, it sure looks like the Turkish Ottoman forces had other things to do than slaughter Armenians while fighting the British, the French, Arabs, Russians, in Iraq, Palestine, attacked from every direction. Actually, the Ottoman forces were also misled to fields of explosives and exterminated.

Chronology of the Armenian Genocide -- 1914
October 1914, mass arrests and killings of Armenians were reported in Erzerum and Zeytun
Were the plans of the 1915-23 Armenian Genocide actually drawn up and were in place by the year 1910 or 1912? According to some sources, definitely yes.
There is the book Inner Folds of the Ottoman Revolution written by Mevlan Zadeh Rifat and published in 1929, the author, a pro-sultan Turk, claims that the "Armenian genocide was decided in August 1910 and October 1911, by a Young Turk committee composed entirely of displaced Balkan Jews in the format of a syncretist Jewish-Muslim sect which included Talaat, Enver, Behaeddin Shakir, Jemal, and Nizam posting as Muslims. It met in the Rothschild-funded Grand Orient loge/hotel of Salonika." Syncretism means a combination of different forms of belief or practice; masonism fits that description.
A 1994 conference paper/lecture by Joseph Brewda of Schiller Institute entitled Palmerson launches Young Turks to permanently control Middle East claims the founder of the Young Turks to be a certain Jew by the name of Emmanuel Carasso. He states: "Carasso set up the Young Turk secret society in the 1890s in Salonika, then part of Turkey, and now part of Greece. Carasso was also the grand master of an Italian masonic lodge there, called 'Macedonia Resurrected.' The lodge was the headquarters of the Young Turks, and all the top Young Turk leadership were members."
Further on Mr. Brewda says: "During the Young Turk regime, Carasso continued to play a leading role. He met with the sultan, to tell him that he was overthrown. He was in charge of putting the sultan under house arrest. He ran the Young Turk intelligence network in the Balkans. And he was in charge of all food supplies in the empire during World War I."
It is ironic that five centuries after the Turkish sultans welcomed the expelled European Jews into Turkey, certain Jews belonging to secret societies and to Zionism will kick the sultans out of power early in 20th century, destroy the Ottoman Empire, and celebrate their victory by massacring by proxy almost the whole Christian Armenian people, one million and half Armenians; half million Greeks; and half million Christian Assyrians & Arameans.
Mr. Brewda writes: "Another important area was the press. While in power, the Young Turks ran several newspapers, including 'The Young Turk,' whose editor was none other than the Russian Zionist leader Vladimir Jabotinsky. Jabotinsky had been educated as a young man in Italy."
Mr. Brewda, ignoring the possibility that Talaat could have been a secret infiltrated Jew, writes: "Of course, there were also some Turks who helped lead the Young Turk movement. For example, Talaat Pasha. Talaat was the interior minister and dictator of the regime during World war I. He had been a member of Carasso's Italian masonic lodge in Salonika.
One year prior to the 1908 coup, Talaat became the grand master of the Scottish Rite Masons in the Ottoman Empire. If you go to the [archives of] Scottish Rite headquarters in Washington, D.C., you can find that most of the Young Turk leaders were officials in the Scottish Rite."
Mr. Brewda also mentions the novel Greenmantle, whose hero is a British spy who led the Young Turks, and that the book's author, John Buchan, later identified the novel's hero as the English nobleman Aubrey Herbert, who was the top British spy master in the Middle East during WW I. And that Lawrence of Arabia later identified Herbert as having been, at one time, the head of the Young Turks. According to Mr. Brewda, Carasso also appears in that novel under the name Carusso.
By 1916 the British and French, overpowered by greed, already had a secret agreement to divide the Ottoman Empire between themselves. Presently Hitler's Mien Kempt anti-semitic book is a best-seller in Turkey, it is published by various Turkish publishers by the thousands and thousands. Are the Turks finally waking up and realizing that their Sultan's refusal to grant Palestine to the Zionist Jews as a homeland had cost them their centuries- old empire?
Talaat was a living witness to the Genocide and history. He should not have been assassinated. His silencing for good by hot-tempered Armenians only served those who planned and executed the Genocide. Had he been left alone, who knows he might have confessed everything at his old age or at his deathbed.
Another conspiratorial source is the lengthy article The Armenian & Jewish Genocide Project: Eliminating Ethnic Conflict Along the Oil Route From Baku to the Suez Canal Region written by Clifford Shack and posted in his web-site.
Mr. Shack writes: "In the 1880's, the French branch of the Rothschild family acquired interests in Russia's Baku oil fields in an effort to supply their refinery on the Adriatic with cheap Russian oil. In exchange for these interests they built a railroad linking Baku to the newly acquired Black Sea port of Batum. This opened up the Baku oil, a major world supply, to the world. With the success of the new railroad, the Rothschilds had more oil than they could actually sell. Overcoming their fear of competing with the giant Standard oil [of USA], they sought out the huge [Far East] markets east of Suez."
Further on Mr. Shack makes his point: "The decision by the shrewd French Rothschild branch to diversify into other areas of oil exploitation was, presumably, a calculated one. Three years after they joined Royal Dutch, production at Baku would come to an abrupt halt in 1905.
Although shaken by political activity, the principal disruption was due to the violence of the ethnic conflict between the region's Muslims and the minority population of Armenians who are Christians. This ethnic conflict caused the first interruption of oil distribution to the world market. Standard oil was quick to supplant the needs of the effected markets as its source was operating under the blanket of peace. The Royal/Dutch/Shell Group (and the Nobles) watched their Baku investments go up in flames.
Ethnic conflict was at the root of the matter. It could be safely assumed that they were taking measures to eliminate the possibility of that happening in the future." Oil corporations seem to have learned their lessons from history because before the construction of present-day Baku-Ceyhan pipeline has began, someone has made sure that no Armenians were left in Baku anymore.
Although the Armenian threat to that pipeline has been neutralized, yet there is still a Turkish ultra-nationalist revival threat, and a threat from Iran if Iran comes under attack from USA or Israel. There is a very clean prophecy of Nostradamus stating: "By firepower of armies, not far from the Black Sea, he will come from Persia/Iran to occupy Trebizond."
Trebizond is located at the shore of the Black Sea and its occupation will virtually cut the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline in half. Another prophecy of Nostradamus reads: "Toward Persia/Iran a sizable army of a million. The serpent Satan invading Byzantium and Egypt." Byzantium & Egypt could be a mystical name for modern Istanbul as Sodom & Egypt is the mystical name given for Jerusalem in the book Revelation 11:8.
Mr. Shack notes that "the mere elimination of the Armenian population of Baku would not solve the problem of ethnic conflict in that region. The surrounding areas would provide reservoir effect in resupplying the conflicting minority element." And he asks: "was the removal [in 1915-23] of a small minority like the Armenians [from historical Armenia] a fair price to pay for the peace in a region so crucial to the development and investment of the Far East?" Apparently Mr. Shack ignores the factor of revenge raging in the heart of human beasts.
Mr. Shacks answers his own question by stating in his article about the big business or big corporations: "It would be fair to say that the genocide of a group of a million or so, to serve the benefit of a billion or so [in the Far East], is less of a question of should it be done, than how it could be done. So as not to reveal any plausible motive which could link the actual planners to the genocide, the scheme involved a proxy party [namely the muslim Turks, Kurds & Azeris] , which was manipulated through layers of influence, providing sufficient cover for the planners."
The fool said in his ignorance, "There was no planned and organized and executed genocide of the Armenians."
In chapter 30 of the book of Isaiah, we read God speaking by His prophet: "Woe to the rebellious children, who execute a plan, but not Mine, and make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, in order to add sin to sin;...For this is a rebellious people, false sons, sons who refuse to listen to the instruction of the Lord."

The Planned, Organized, Executed Genocide Of Armenians
"After the revolution in July 1908, it soon became known that many of the Young Turks’ leading members were Freemasons. It was noticed that Jews of all colours, native and foreign, were enthusiastic supporters of the new dispensation. Turks began to remark that the movement was rather a Jewish than a Turkish Revolution."
The Young Turk movement - Committee of Union and Progress, arose out of the Rothschilds’ oil interests in the Black Sea area of the Ottoman Empire in the late 1800s.
‘Creating stability’ in an incendiary realm was necessary for the Rothschilds’ new oil enterprise Baku Oilagitators such as the Russian Zionist, Vladimir Jabotinksy, the editor of The Young Turk newspaper, were just what the Rothschilds needed for ridding the Armenians.
The Young Turks who sought for the break up of the Ottoman Empire in order to obtain Palestine–and the House of Rothschild, who needed a Jewish-controlled Turkey and hegemony over the entire Middle East, could work together. This meant funding for the Jewish Young Turks and revolutionary subversives for the Rothschilds.
Plots Begin Against The Sultan in 1860, by Jewish Hungarian Zionist named Arminius Vambery who becomes an advisor to the Sultan Abdül Mecit while secretly working as an agent for Lord Palmerston of the British Foreign Office.
Vambery tries to broker a deal between the Zionist leader Theodore Herzl and Sultan Abdül Mecit over the creation of Israel but fails.
In 1891- the Young Turks are formed out of the Donmeh a Zionist political group forms called: The Committee of Union and Progress, later called The Young Turks. The group is headed by a Freemason Jew by the name of Emmanuel Carraso who organizes the secret Committee of Union and Progress in Geneva with the help of the Rothschilds.
The Young Turks was formed by:
* Emmanuel Carraso: B’nai B’rith Official of Italian origin. Grand Master of the Macedonia Ressurected Masonic Lodge in Salonika; Established the ’secret’ Committee of Union; Progress in Salonika in 1890.
* Alexander Helphand, - Parvus: Financier/liaison of the Rothschilds of the Young Turk revolution; Editor of The Turkish Homeland.
* Tallaat Pasha (1874-1921): Thought to be a Turk but in reality a “Donmeh Jew.” Interior Minister of Turkey during World War I; Member of Carasso’s Masonic lodge and Grand Master of the Scottish Rite Masons in Turkey; Chief architect of the Armenian Holocaust and Director of Deportations. He wrote, “By continuing the deportation of the Armenians to their destinations during the intense cold we are ensuring their eternal rest.”
* Djavid Bey: “Donmeh Jew.” Talaat’s Finance Minister; Arranged the finances of revolution in Turkey with the Rothschilds; Later assasinated by Attaturk as a perceived rival.
* Messim Russo: Assistant to Djavid Bey
* Refik Saydam Bey: Editor of Young Turk newspaper Revolutionary Press; Became Prime Minister of Turkey in 1939.
* Emanuel Qrasow: Jewish propagandist for The Young Turks. Headed the delegation to inform Sultan Abdül Hamid II that “”The nation has removed you from your office.”
* Vladimir Jabotinsky: Russian Zionist who moved to Turkey in 1908. Supported by B’nai Brith of London and Dutch Zionist millionaire, Jacob Kann; Editor of Young Turk newpaper. Later started the terrorist Irgun political party in Israel.
* Mustafa Kemal ‘Attaturk’ (1881-1938): A Jew of Sephardic (Spanish) origin. Attaturk attended the Jewish elementary school known as Semsi Effendi School run by the Jew Simon Zvi. Over 12,000 Jews welcomed to Turkey by Attaturk in 1933 when Hitler came to power.
Congress Of Young Turks 1902 ,1907:
Two Congresses of The Young Turks meet in Paris to plan, prepare, and effect the penetration the Sultan’s army leading to the military coup of 1908.
1908: The Jewish Young Turks revolt and force the Sultan Abdül Hamid II into submission.
1909: The Jewish Young Turks rape, torture, and slaughter over 100,000 Armenians in the city of Adana, also known as Cilicia.
1914: The Jews of The Young Turks create unrest, turmoil, and bolster the paid Serbian assassin, Gavrilo Princip, which leads to WWI.
1915: The Armenian Holocaust engineered by the The Young Turks, leaves 1.5 million Armenian Christians starved, tortured, and murdered.
1918: Mustafa Kemal ‘Attaturk’ ascends into leadership in Turkey.
1920: Russian Jewish Bolsheviks supply Attaturk with 10 million gold roubles, 45,000 rifles, and 300 machine guns with ammunition.
1921: Attaturk occupies the Port of Batu in conjunction with the Russian Jewish Bolsheviks ceding it to the Bolsheviks five days later.
Alexander Parvus, Russian revolutionary (Menshevik) and a German Social Democrat, as well as a German intelligence agent.
Israel Lazarevich Gelfand, remembered by his pseudonym: Alexander Parvus, was born of ethnic Jewish parents August 1867 in the shtetl of Berazino, now part of Belarus. He was raised in Odessa, in today's Ukraine, where he began associating with the Jewish revolutionary (The Bund) circles.
- The General Jewish Labour Bund of Lithuania, Poland and Russia, generally called The Bund meaning federation or union, or the Jewish Labour Bund, was a Jewish socialist party in the Russian Empire, active between 1897 and 1920. Remnants of the party remain active in the diaspora as well as in Israel.
In December of 1905 Parvus authored a provocative article on behalf of the St. Petersburg Soviet, The Financial Manifesto, which described the Russian economy as being on the verge of collapse. In turn the article was dispatched to other communist agents in the more mainline newspapers who published it as well.
In combination with this propaganda, Parvus coordinated an agitation of locals to feign a run on the banks. As the news of the article and the subsequent "rush" was spread, the consequent hysteria managed to upset the economy and enrage prime minister Sergei Witte, but did not cause a financial collapse.
In connection with this provocation and Parvus' involvement in the organization of anti-government actions during the 1905 revolution, Parvus (together with other revolutionaries such as Leon Trotsky) was arrested by the Russian police. While in prison he became close with other revolutionaries, and was visited by Rosa Luxemburg. Sentenced to three years exile in Siberia, Parvus escaped and ran away to Germany.
While in Turkey, Parvus became close with German ambassador Baron Hans Freiherr von Wangenheim who was known to be partial to establishing revolutionary fifth columns among the allies. Consequently, Parvus offered his plan via Baron von Wangenheim to the German General Staff: the paralyzing of Russia via general strike, financed by the German government.
Von Wagenheim sent Parvus to Berlin where the latter arrived on the 6th of March, 1915 and presented a 20 page plan titled: A preparation of massive political strikes in Russia to the German government.
Parvus' detailed plan recommended the division of Russia by sponsoring the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party. Basing himself on his 1905 experiences, Parvus theorised that the division of Russia and its loss in the First World War was the best way to bring about a socialist revolution.
Parvus placed his bets on Lenin, as the latter was not only a radical but willing to accept the sponsorship of the Tsar's wartime enemy, Germany. The two met in Berne in May 1915 and agreed to collaboration through their organizations, though Lenin remained very careful never to get associated with Parvus in public.
There is no certain proof that they ever met face to face again, although there are indications that such a meeting may well have occurred on April 13, 1917 during Lenin's stop-over in Stockholm.
German intelligence set up Parvus' financial network via offshore operations in Copenhagen, setting up relays for German money to get to Russia via fake financial transactions between front organizations. A large part of the transactions of these companies were genuine, but those served to bury the transfer of money to the Bolsheviks, a strategy made feasible by the weak and overburdened fiscal and customs offices in Scandinavia, which were inadequate for the booming black market in these countries during the war.
The most notorious was the Institute for the Study of the Social Consequences of War which Parvus set up in Denmark. Initially he had intended for Nikolai Bukharin to lead the operation, but under the pressure of Lenin who mistrusted Bukharin as a probable government agent instead instituted Lenin's confidants Yakov Ganetsky and Karl Radek. The activities of agent couriers were organized by Moisei Uritsky, later the head of Soviet Petrograd's Cheka.
Parvus' reputation with the German ministry of foreign affairs came into question when in the winter of 1916 a Parvus planned financial catastrophe in St. Petersburg (akin to Parvus' provocation against the Russian banks in 1905) failed to produce a massive uprising. As a result, financing for Parvus' operations were frozen. Parvus went for support to the German Navy, briefly working as their advisor.
He managed to help prevent Russian naval admiral Kolchak from taking on his offensive against the Turko-German Fleet in the Bosphorus and Dardanelles by planning the sabotage of a major Russian warship. This success gave him more credibility, once again, in the eyes of the Germans.
In March 1917, in a plan strategized together with Parvus, German intelligence sent Vladimir Lenin and a group of 30 of his revolutionary associates from Switzerland through Germany in a train car under supervision of Swiss socialist Fritz Platten.
Parvus moved to Istanbul in Turkey, where he lived for five years. There he set up an arms trading company which profited handsomely during the Balkan War.
He became the financial and political advisor of the Young Turks. In 1912 he was made editor of Turk Yurdu, their daily newspaper. He worked closely with the triumvirs known as the Three Pashas, also known as the "dictatorial triumvirate", - Enver, Talat and Cemal - and Finance Minister Djavid Bey. The triumvirs of Three Pashas planned and executed the Armenian Massacres in 1915.

The triumvirs of Three Pashas planned and executed the "Armenian Massacres" in 1915.
Alexander Parvus firm dealt with the deliveries of foodstuffs for the Turkish army and he was a business partner of the Krupp concern, of Vickers Limited, and of the famous arms dealer Basil Zaharov.
Arms dealings with Vickers Limited at war time gave basis to the theory that Alexander Parvus was also a British intelligence asset.
While in Turkey Parvus became close with German ambassador Baron Hans Freiherr von Wangenheim who was known to be partial to establishing revolutionary fifth columns among the allies.
Consequently, Parvus offered his plan via Baron von Wangenheim to the German General Staff the paralyzing of Russia via general strike, financed by the German government (which, at the time, was at war with Russia and its allies.

Parvus' detailed plan recommended the division of Russia by sponsoring the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party,
encouraging ethnic separatists in various Russian regions, and supporting various writers whose criticism of Tsarism continued during wartime.
Basing himself on his 1905 experiences, Parvus theorised that the division of Russia and its loss in the First World War was the best way to bring about a socialist revolution.
Parvus developed the concept of using a foreign war to provoke an internal revolt within a country. Parvus arrived in St. Petersburg with false Austro-Hungarian papers. Parvus was regarded among European Marxists of the day as an authority on political and financial questions; consequently when he authored a provocative article In December entitled The Financial Manifesto, which described the Russian economy as being on the verge of collapse it received broad play in the press.
In combination with this propaganda, Parvus coordinated an agitation of locals to feign a run on the banks. As the news of the article and the subsequent "rush" was spread, the consequent hysteria managed to upset the economy and enrage prime minister Sergei Witte, but did not cause a financial collapse.

Parvus has left no documents after his death and all of his savings disappeared. Both of his surviving sons became Soviet diplomats although one died in the gulag and the other disappeared.
After the Armenian genocide, the British Military Government sent 77 Turkish criminals to Malta and Talaat Pasha, Enver Pasha, Djemal Pasha and Dr. Nazim were sentenced to death in absentia Just like many of the Nazi criminals in WWII!

Led the Ottoman army and refused to halt upon a direct order from the Ottoman minister of war. The Ottoman government was upset and the Sultan Mehmed VI dismissed him from his post. He refused to do so and kept the Ottoman forces moving in Medina until 72 days after the end of the war.
Fahreddin was arrested by his own men and brought to Abdullah on 9 January 1919 at Bir Darwish. Abdullah entered Medina shortly after the surrender, followed by Ali who entered the city on 2 February 1919. After his arrest, he was brought to Malta.
Fahreddin Pasha lived as a prisoner of war for over two years in Malta until 1921. After his release in 1921, he joined the Turkish forces under the command of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and fought against the Greek and French armies occupying Anatolia.
After the Turkish War of Independence, he became Turkey's ambassador to Kabul in Afghanistan between 1922 and 1926. In 1936, he was promoted to major general and retired from the army. He died on November 22, 1948, after suffering a heart attack during a train trip in the vicinity of Eskisehir. He was buried in the Asiyan Cemetery in Istanbul.

Ataturk Calling To American People
Admiral Colby Chester served for some time in Turkey in 1898 and got to know a number of people among the Jewish Young Turks.
The two person George Horton mainly refers to are the U.S. Rear US Navy Admiral William Colby Mitchell Chester (1844-1932) and his son Lieutenant Commander Arthur Tremaine Chester (1874- 1936).
Admiral Colby Chester served for some time in Turkey in 1898 and got to know a number of importnat people among the Young Turks. Ten years later in 1908 he came back to Constantinople with money from the New York Chamber of Commerce and managed to get a number of concessions for works, railways, harbours, minerals, and oil in Ottoman Turkey.
The war, but especially the German competition, disrupted his ambitious and rosy dreams. They were revived when the war ended and a new "partner" appeared. Henry Woodhouse (1884-1970), an Italian-born speculator and forger, helped him form between 1920-1922 an oil syndicate called : "the Ottoman American Development Company" (OADC).
Thanks to the Admiral the syndicate received rights to construct and operate a railroad in Anatolia and along the Black Sea and to exploit the oil fields of Mosul. During the turmoils of the Turkish defeat and the civil war that started in Turkey the syndicate suddenly was promised mountains of gold also by the new ruler of Anatolia - Mustafa Kemal.
At that time Kemal was using the bolshevik arms, gold and advisors but it didn't hinder him to allure also the American big capital to be used in his game for power. Woodhouse who owned 1/6 of the capital stock of the OADC became director of the Turco-American Corporation that had received options to build the future capital - the city of Ankara.
It is under these cicumstances that the "famous" Chester Concession originated. The concession was formally signed in April 1923 after the extermination of the Greeks. Gazi Mustafa Kemal allowed the Ottoman-American Development Company "to construct and operate 2,700 miles of railroad, to exploit all mines and minerals found in a 25-mile zone along the right of way of this road, which, according to estimates made upon various surveys, cover:
1) the famous Mosul and other oil fields, aggregating from 4,000,000,000 to 8,000,000,000 barrels potentially, or between one-sixth and one-tenth of the world's total oil resources.
2) Copper deposits comprising over 400,000,000 tons of rich ore.
3) About 500 gold, platinum, silver, manganese, iron, tin, zinc, salt, coal and other mines and deposits."
In exchange for that generous gifts the OADC and all its personnel and stock-holders were supposed to spread good news about Kemalist Turkey and courageously counter anti-Turkish (mainly Greek and Armenian) "propaganda".
Admiral Chester fought now with a pen for his Turkish promised land. Among other things he wrote an article which was widely popularized by the New York Times in September 1922 accusing the Armenians to be the principle cause of the ‘trouble' in the Ottoman Empire. The Turks never had done what their notoriously malicious enemies accused them of having done.
His son Lieutenant Commander Arthur Tremaine Chester did his best too to promote the newly discovered "Turco-American friendship". In 1923 he published "A spirited defense of the Turks against charge of atrocities," in the same "The New York Times." Many other interested persons followed with their defenses of Turkey's virtue and integrity.
But all of that was love's labours lost. The Chester Concession turned out to be one of the biggest hoaxes in history. For Gazi Mustafa it was a purely political weapon. He managed to sow discord and suspicions between the greedy Western Powers by playing off the US against Britain and mainly France.
Thus he was free from any pressures and troubles from the West. He exterminated the Greeks, denied the charges of genocide and got in exchnage the international recognition of his regime at Lausanne in January 1923. His agenda was quite different from what greed and ignorance of the Turkish realities made the Americans believe it would be.
Later in the same year (1923!) Gazi Mustafa through the Grand Assembly simply cancelled the whole concession. The reason was allegedly "owing to failure of the concessionaires to fulfill in the allotted time (!) certain conditions of the grant".
If I may dare draw any conclusions from the above, I'd say that the Americans seem to have learnt little if anything from the Chester hoax. The dupe is chronically forgetful, the swindler encouraged in his unsocial behaviour.

Armenian President: we don't see Turkish society as enemies
ANF - Yerevan 24.04.2014, The speech President of Armenia Serj Sarkisian will hold to mark the 99th anniversary of the Armenian genocide today has been published on the official website of the Armenian presidency.
President Serj Sarkisian pointed out that the Turkish State still continued to deny the Armenian genocide altogether today, adding that; “We are confident that this denial means a direct follow-up of this crime. Further similar crimes can be prevented from taking place in the future only by admitting and condemning this crime.”
The Armenian president said they wanted to confirm before everyone once again that Armenians didn't see the Turkish society as an enemy. “May God bless those who endangered their life and that of their families by extending hands to our citizens and helping them”, Sarkisian said and stressed that it depended on the Turkish state's approach to leave this historical shame behind and to have the Turkish state be relieved of this heavy burden".
The president also said: "Today, nearly a hundred years after the Genocide, it is obvious the trauma inflicted upon our people by an unthinkable atrocity we were never prepared for. Until now, all Armenians dispersed throughout the world and all their generations are closely familiar with outcome of the Genocide. Despite this truth, however, the reality is that we have rebuilt a state from the remains of the Armenian homeland and today, in contrast to the past, we are more aware of and more prepared for the dangers we may face. Nowhere in the world is as safe for an Armenian as in her homeland, under the auspices of her own people’s state."
The president ended by saying: "We are approaching the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide with our heads held high and hopes for the future, with a state, whose name is the Republic of Armenia. It is the homeland of the entire Armenian people, who, despite decades-old illegal blockades and a “neither war nor peace” reality, continue to make progress.
The year 2015 should convey a strong message to Turkey. Its attitude toward Armenia can no longer be measured by words because the time is here for clear steps: the opening of the closed borders and the establishment of normal relations. Our position on the Armenian-Turkish protocols has not changed and the idea of “reasonable terms” is becoming more urgent than ever."

Greetings to all those whose hearts are ablaze with the fire of Newroz for peace and freedom!
I greet our people who have turned the magnificent Newroz fire into a celebration of revival and democracy in Mesopotamia – the cradle of civilisations.
Via all of you I send my love to all the youth and women of my country. I call on all those who have opened room for peace in their heart and hear our voice as well as all of Turkey to unite with the centuries old spirit of solidarity.
I also celebrate the festivities of sister peoples of the Middle East and Asia who were the cradle of the world civilisation history.
I send you all my heartful greetings. Greetings to all!
We extinguished the war fire that turns young saplings, beloved persons, loves and labour into ashes and ignited the grand revival torch for peace on a day like this, last Newroz.
The beloved people of Turkey!
History has shown us that if a decisive leadership for peace is not displayed then historical problems shall follow its own course and shall generally generate, through transformations with huge losses, their own responses. The question before us that scorchingly awaits an answer is whether we shall continue to make headway through recurring coups or through a complete and radical democracy.
The current concrete situation we have experienced since last Newroz represents exactly this crossroad. The 200 year old conspiratorial-putschist regime based on capitalist modernity shall either restore itself and sustain power or the Turkish-Kurdish relations reseated on its historical course shall go through the most comprehensive reforms with a regime based on democratic constitution that shall dismantle the conspiratorial-putschist mechanisms. All other short term gateways and temporary forms have now petered out.
To date it was a dialogue process that was conducted and it was of importance. Both sides tested the good will, realism and proficiency of one another during this time. Both sides have come out of this test, the quest for peace, with determination despite the government’s reluctance, one-sided implementations, avoidance of creating a legal basis and stance of prolonging things. However although dialogue processes are important they are not binding. Therefore they do not constitute an adequate guarantee for a lasting peace. A legal framework for the systematics of negotiations is now unavoidable.
Peace is more difficult than war but each warfare certainly has its own peace. We were not scared as we resisted; we will also not be scared when we make peace.
Our resistance was not against the sister peoples but against the tyrannical order with hegemonic character that disregards, destroys and denies. Therefore our peace is not for governments or states but for the peoples of Anatolia, Kurdistan and Mesopotamia who have absorbed the thousands of years old ancient values of these lands and are the unique preparators of the world’s cultural heritage. The government and state are obliged to develop a sobriety which is in line with this reality.
Our grand peace journey has come under many attacks such as the one faced in Oslo, Paris, Gever, Lice as well as the KCK operations and the cruel attitude towards the ill prisoners. It is this movement; it is indeed you who shall spoil all such dirty games, weaken and thwart the domination of the international GLADIO. The struggle we have waged played a huge part in rendering all orders of tutelage in the whole region ineffective. It is our historical responsibility to display sufficient care against international plots appearing before us in various forms.
On the other hand a responsible manner of address and speech shall not only render many racist psychological warfare methods invalid, it shall also be the fundamental character of our grand peace.
Such a peace shall only be strengthened by solutions through democratic constitutions throughout the region and above all in Rojava.
Women shall become the true guarantors of this peace not only because of their accumulated great potential for freedom and equality but because of the new ethical and aesthetic values they have added to the democratic social development.
Our movement began as a youth movement and has always stayed young. The youth shall yet be the unflinching defenders of this peace in the face of all attacks and provocations against it.
Our people dispersed all around the world, and especially those in Europe, shall become our voice that speaks out for peace and an honourable free life.
All our comrades who without any hesitation gave their lives, health and freedom wherever hope was fading shall be our fundamental pillars.
Peoples of Turkey, with our thousand year old tradition of amity, shall give the most effective response to the racist, discriminatory, arrogant and hate speeches.
I salute you all with my belief for a free and fully democratic country where all beliefs, peoples, cultures and labour shall feel free and with revolutionary feelings.
I call on all those who feel a sense of responsibility towards this era and humanity to become the building blocks of this grand peace of ours.
Salute to all those who take on responsibility for amity between peoples!
Long Live Newroz!
Long Live Amity Between Peoples!

I SALUTE THE FREEDOM NEWROZ OF THE OPPRESSED
I salute the people of the Middle East and Central Asia celebrating this awakening, revival and resurgence day of Newroz with extraordinary participation and unity…
I salute all the peoples celebrating Newroz, which is the daylight and turning point of a new era, with great enthusiasm and democratic tolerance…
I salute all the travellers on this grand path toward democratic rights, freedom and equality…
I salute you, the Kurdish people, living at the Zagros and Taurus mountain skirts and in the valleys of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. I salute the Kurdish people, an ancient people, dwellers in the sacred lands of Mesopotamia and Anatolia, mother to all agricultural, village and urban civilizations….
Kurds have taken part in this several-thousand-year-old civilization in friendship and accord with diverse races, religions, creeds – we have all built it together. For Kurds the Euphrates and Tigris are the siblings of Sakarya and Maritsa. Ararat and Judi are the friends of Kaçkars and Erciyes. Halay *1 and Delilo *2, are in the family of Horon *3 and Zeybek *4.
These grand civilizations, these coexisting communities have more recently been pitted against each other by political pressure, external interventions and group interests. The result has been the construction of systems that are not based upon rights, law, equality and freedom.
For the last two hundred years military conquests, western imperialist interventions, as well as repression and policies of denial have tried to submerge the Arabian, Turkic, Persian and Kurdish communities to the rule of nation states, its imaginary borders and artificial problems.
The era of exploitative regimes, repression and denial is over. The peoples of the Middle East and those of Central Asia are awakening. They are returning to their roots. They demand a halt to the blinding and seditious wars and conflicts against one another.
Those thousands, millions of people who are pouring into these arenas are burning with the passion of Newroz. They cry for peace and amity, and they are demanding a solution.
This struggle, which began as my own individual rebellion against the despair, ignorance and slavery into which I was born, has sought to create a new consciousness, a new understanding and a new spirit. Today I see that our efforts have reached a new level.
Our fight has not been and can never be against any specific race, religion, sect, or group. Our fight has been against repression, ignorance and injustice, against enforced underdevelopment as well as against all forms of oppression.
v
Today we are awakening to a new Turkey and a new Middle East.
The youth who have welcomed my call, the eminent women who heeded my call, friends who have accepted my discourse and all people who can hear my voice:
Today a new era is beginning.
The period of armed struggle is ending, and the door is opening to democratic politics.
We are beginning a process focused on political, social and economic aspects; an understanding based on democratic rights, freedoms, and equality is growing.
We have sacrificed much of our lives for the Kurdish people, we paid a high price. None of these sacrifices, none of our struggles, were in vain. For as a consequence of them, the Kurdish people have attained once again their identity and their roots.
We have now reached the point of “silence the weapons and let the ideas and politics speak”. The modernist paradigm that has disregarded, excluded and denied us has been razed to the ground. Regardless of whether it be Turkish, Kurdish, Laz or Circassian – the blood spilled is flowing from a human being and from the bosom of this land.
Witnessed by the millions of people who heed my call, I say a new era is beginning; an era where politics gain prominence over weapons. We have now arrived at the stage of withdrawing our armed forces outside the borders.
I believe that all those who have believed in this cause and me are sensitive to the possible dangers of the process.
This is not an end, but a new beginning. This is not abandoning the struggle – we are initiating a different struggle.
The creation of geographies based on ethnicity and a single nation is an inhuman fabrication of modernity that denies our roots and our origins.
A great responsibility falls on all of us to create an equal, free and democratic country of all peoples and cultures, befitting the history of Kurdistan and Anatolia. On this occasion of Newroz, I call on the Armenians, Turkomans, Assyrians, Arabs and all other peoples just as much as on the Kurds to behold the flame of freedom and equality – the fire that is lit here today – and embrace it as their own.
Distinguished people of Turkey;
The Turkish people who live in what is called Turkey today – the ancient Anatolia – should recognise that their common life with the Kurds, under the flag of Islam, rests on the principles of amity and solidarity. The rules of amity has and should have no room for conquest, denial, rejection, forced assimilation, or annihilation.
The last century’s repressive, annihilationist, and assimilationist policies, based on capitalist modernity, represent the efforts of a ruling elite to deny a long history of amity. They do not represent the will of the people. It is now very clear that this grip of tyranny contradicts both history and rules of amity. In order to be able to leave that lamentable past behind, I call on the two strategic powers of the Middle East to build a democratic modernity befitting our culture and civilization.
The time has come for dispute, conflict, and enmity to yield to alliance, unity, blessings, and a mutual embrace.
The Turks and Kurds who fell as martyrs together at Çanakkale also went through the War of Independence together, and together they opened the 1920 assembly.
Our common past is a reality that requires us to create a common future. Today the spirit that established the Turkish Grand Assembly leads the way to the new era.
I call on all oppressed peoples; on women, who are the most long-standing colonized and subjugated class; on all marginalized and excluded creeds, cults, and cultures; on the working class and all subordinated classes; on everyone who has been excluded from the system to take their rightful position in Democratic Modernity and to attain its mentality.
The Middle East and Central Asia are searching for a contemporary modernity and a democratic order that befits their own history. A new model in which all can coexist peacefully and amicably has become an objective need like the need for bread and water. Inevitably, again, the geography and culture of Anatolia and Mesopotamia are guiding it to build such a model.
We are experiencing a more current, more complicated, and more profound version of the War of Independence that developed in the framework of the [1920] National Pact.
Despite all the mistakes, setbacks, and failures of the past ninety years, we are once again trying to build a model with all the peoples, classes, and cultures who have been victims and have suffered through terrible disasters. I call on all of you to step forward and help achieve an egalitarian, free, and democratic social organization.
I call on the Kurds, Turkoman, Assyrians and Arabs who were separated despite the National Pact and today have been condemned to live under grave problems and in conflict with one another within the Syrian and Iraqi Arab Republic to begin discussions, and re-asses as well as to take decisions on their present reality in a “National Solidarity and Peace Conference”.
The breadth and comprehensiveness of the “WE” concept has an important place within the history of this land. But in the hands of the narrow and ruling elitists, “WE” has been reduced to “ONE.” It is time to give the “WE” concept its old spirit and to implement it.
We shall unite against those who want to divide and make us fight one another. We shall join together against those who want to separate us.
Those who cannot understand the spirit of the age will end up in the dustbin of history. Those who resist the current will fall into the abyss.
The peoples of the region are witnessing a new dawn. The peoples of the Middle East are weary of enmity, conflict, and war. They want to be reborn from their own roots and to stand shoulder to shoulder.
This Newroz is a beacon to us all.
The truths in the messages of Moses, Jesus and Mohammed are being implemented in our lives today with new tidings. People are trying to regain what they have lost.
We do not deny the values of the contemporary civilisation of the West in whole. We indeed take the values of enlightenment, equality, freedom and democracy, and in order to implement them we synthesise them with our own existential values and lifeways.
The basis of the new struggle is thoughts, ideology and democratic politics, and to be able to start a great democratic leap forward.
Greetings to all those who have contributed to this process and strengthened it, and to all to those who have supported the peaceful democratic solution!
I salute all those who take responsibility for the amicable, equal and democratic freedom of peoples!
Long live Newroz, long live the amity of peoples!
